This is the central question of our time.

It is a question that is answered in public opinion and the answer directs domestic and foreign policy. The historical analysis of Bernard Lewis and Samuel Huntington was developed to answer this question many years ago. The neoconservative movement is the way this historical analysis is presented in the USA.

The dominate answer in public opinion is a lie and it is promulgated by the Neoconservatives.

The principal neoconservative media is, Commentary , The Weekly Standard, Most of National Review, Half The New Republic, City Journal, The New Criterion, The Washington Times, Insight, The New York Post, The New York Sun, The editorial pages of The Wall Street Journal, 60 or so percent of the Washington Post op-ed page, A twice-a-week appearance on the New York Times op-ed page, All of Fox News, Much of MSNBC, A bit of CNN, More and more of PBS

The principal hacks are; William Krystol, Charles Krauthammer, Judy Miller, Thomas Friedman, Fred Barnes.

The principal think tanks are, The American Enterprise Institute, The Heritage Foundation, The Hoover Institution, The Project for the New American Century

The principal financiers of the Neoconservative movement are, Nelson and Bunker Hunt, Richard Mellon Scaife, Joseph Coors, and the Reverend Sun Myung Moon, the Lynde and Harry Bradley Foundation, Olin, and Smith Richardson foundations

The parts of the government occupied by the neoconservatives are, The US National Security Council, The Department of Defense, Parts of the World Bank and the UN Ambassador's office, A healthy chunk of the State Department, The Vice-President's office, And an unknown percentage of what is politely referred to as "the president's mind."

The Neoconservatives spend huge resources to make sure their answer is drilled into public opinion. The neoconservative answer is not just wrong, it is a calculated lie and has led us into the unprecedented disaster we are currently suffering.
