Egypt – Creative Destruction For A ‘Greater Middle East’? The Promised Land?

Fast on the heels of the regime change in Tunisia came a popular-based protest movement launched on January 25 against the entrenched order of Egypt’s Hosni Mubarak. Contrary to the carefully-cultivated impression that the Obama Administration is trying to retain the present regime of Mubarak, Washington in fact is orchestrating the Egyptian as well as other regional regime changes from Syria to Yemen to Jordan and well beyond in a process some refer to as “creative destruction.”

The template for such covert regime change has been developed by the Pentagon, US intelligence agencies and various think-tanks such as RAND Corporation over decades, beginning with the May 1968 destabilization of the de Gaulle presidency in France. This is the first time since the US-backed regime changes in Eastern Europe some two decades back that Washington has initiated simultaneous operations in many countries in a region. It is a strategy born of a certain desperation and one not without significant risk for the Pentagon and for the long-term Wall Street agenda. What the outcome will be for the peoples of the region and for the world is as yet unclear.

To enable the spread of International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) the Northern Distribution Network (NDN) is key. US presence in Kyrgyzstan is a key to the NDN. It involves a series of logistical arrangements connecting Baltic and Caspian ports with Afghanistan. Iran and China are also being considered to open those to Pentagon logistic.

NDN provides a mechanism. It only costs a few millions of dollars of transit fees, to penetrate deep. The flow of war material and troops will be huge. Under the Obama ‘surge’ the demand for non-military supplies in 2010-2011 is estimated to be 200-300% more than in 2008.

supported U.S. oil companies dealing into the Caspian region and a pipeline not controlled by Moscow. In the next administration they were escalated to matters of national security by Clinton.

To this end, the U.S. is employing the time-tested tactics of Low Intensity Warfare to generate the pretext for NATO’s permanent expansion under guise of the ‘war on terror’, with opium gainfully fueling the operations. If successful in Central Asia, Washington will have achieved a ‘checkmate’ by effectively blocking any combination of nations on earth from opposing its agenda of Full Spectrum Dominance.

Since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991 a prime strategic objective of the Pentagon and of US intelligence has been to deeply penetrate the former Soviet states of Central Asia.
