PROP - AGENDA

Propaganda for Dummies

In the West the calculated manipulation of public opinion to serve political and ideological interests is much more covert and therefore much more effective than a propaganda system imposed in a totalitarian regime.

Its greatest triumph is that we generally don't notice the influence of propaganda — or laugh at the notion it even exists.

We watch the democratic process taking place - heated debates in which we feel we could have a voice — and think that, because we have “free” media, it would be hard for the Government to get away with anything very devious without someone calling them on it.

The American approach to social control is so much more sophisticated and pervasive that it really deserves a new name.

It isn't just propaganda any more, it's “prop-agenda.” It's not so much the control of what we think, but the control of what we think about.

When our governments want to sell us a course of action, they do it by making sure it's the only thing on the agenda, the only thing everyone's talking about.

And they pre-load the ensuing discussion with highly selected images, devious and prejudicial language, dubious linkages, weak or false “intelligence” and selected “leaks”.

With the ground thus prepared, governments are happy if you then “use the democratic process” to agree or disagree — for, after all, their intention is to mobilise enough headlines and conversation to make the whole thing seem real and urgent.

The more emotional the debate, the better. Emotion creates reality, reality demands action.

Keeping the People Passive & Obedient

The smart way to keep people passive and obedient is to strictly limit the spectrum of acceptable opinion, but allow very lively debate within that spectrum - even encourage the more critical and dissident views.

That gives people the sense that there's free thinking going on, while all the time the presuppositions of the system are being reinforced by the limits put on the range of the debate.

Since the voice of the people is allowed to speak out in democratic societies, those in power better control what that voice says — in other words, control what people think.

One of the ways to do this is to create political debate that appears to embrace many opinions, but actually stays within very narrow margins.

You have to make sure that both sides in the debate accept certain assumptions — and that those assumptions are the basis of the propaganda system. As long as everyone accepts the propaganda system, the debate is permissible.

One reason that propaganda often works better on the educated than on the uneducated is that educated people read more, so they receive more propaganda.

Another is that they have jobs in management, media, and academia and therefore work in some capacity as agents of the propaganda system — and they believe what the system expects them to believe.

By and large, they're part of the privileged elite, and share the interests and perceptions of those in power.

It is much more difficult to see a propaganda system at work where the media are private and formal censorship is absent.

This is especially true where the media actively compete, periodically attack and expose corporate and government malfeasance, and aggressively portray themselves as spokesmen for free speech and the general community interest.

What is not evident (and remains undiscussed in the media) is the limited nature of such critiques, as well as the huge inequality of the command of resources, and its effect both on access to a private media system and on its behavior and performance.

Propaganda & the Ruling Ideology

When a leading journalist or TV news presenter is asked whether they are subject to pressure or censorship, they say they are completely free to express their own opinions.

So how does thought control work in a democratic society? We know how it works in dictatorships.

Journalists are an integral part of the ruling ideology. They are so well 'integrated' that they can't see outside the ideological box they inhabit.

Their journalism is balanced, fair and tolerant of other points of view. But that is part of the 'value system' they are promulgating. 'Truth' is their version of the world.

To return to the original question. If one suggests there is censorship in the Western media, journalists immediately reply: “No one has been exerting any pressure on me. I write what I want.” And it’s true.

But if they defended positions contrary to the dominant norm, someone else would soon be writing editorials in their place.

Obviously it is not a hard-and-fast rule: the US press sometimes publishes even my work, and the US is not a totalitarian country. But anyone who fails to fulfil certain minimum requirements does not stand a chance of becoming an established commentator.

It is one of the big differences between the propaganda system of a totalitarian state and the way democratic societies go about things. Exaggerating slightly, in totalitarian countries the state decides the official line and everyone must then comply.

Democratic societies operate differently. The line is never presented as such, merely implied. This involves brainwashing people who are still at liberty.

Even the passionate debates in the main media stay within the bounds of commonly accepted, implicit rules, which sideline a large number of contrary views.

The system of control in democratic societies is extremely effective. We do not notice the line any more than we notice the air we breathe.

We sometimes even imagine we are seeing a lively debate. The system of control is much more powerful than in totalitarian systems.

Look at Germany in the early 1930s. We tend to forget that it was the most advanced country in Europe, taking the lead in art, science, technology, literature and philosophy.

Then, in no time at all, it suffered a complete reversal of fortune and became the most barbaric, murderous state in human history. All that was achieved by using fear:

Fear of the Bolsheviks, the Jews, the Americans, the Gypsies – everyone who, according to the Nazis, was threatening the core values of European culture and the direct descendants of Greek civilisation (as the philosopher Martin Heidegger wrote in 1935).

However, most of the German media who inundated the population with these messages were using marketing techniques developed by US advertising agents.

The same method is always used to impose an ideology. Violence is not enough to dominate people: some other justification is required.

When one person wields power over another – whether they are a dictator, a colonist, a bureaucrat, a spouse or a boss – they need an ideology justifying their action.

And it is always the same: their domination is exerted for the good of the underdog. Those in power always present themselves as being altruistic, disinterested and generous.

In the 1930s the rules for Nazi propaganda involved using simple words and repeating them in association with emotions and phobia.

When Hitler invaded the Sudetenland in 1938 he cited the noblest, most charitable motives: the need for a humanitarian intervention to prevent the ethnic cleansing of German speakers.

Henceforward everyone would be living under Germany’s protective wing, with the support of the world’s most artistically and culturally advanced country.

When it comes to propaganda (though in a sense nothing has changed since the days of Athens) there have been some minor improvements.

The instruments available now are much more refined, in particular – surprising as it may seem – in the countries with the greatest civil liberties, Britain and the US.

The contemporary public relations industry was born there in the 1920s, an activity we may also refer to as opinion forming or propaganda.

Both countries had made such progress in democratic rights (women’s suffrage, freedom of speech) that state violence was no longer sufficient to contain the desire for liberty. So those in power sought other ways of manufacturing consent.

The PR industry produces, in the true sense of the term, concept, acceptance and submission.

It controls people’s minds and ideas. It is a major advance on totalitarian rule, as it is much more agreeable to be subjected to advertising than to torture.

REDISTRIBUTION

When I was five years old, it was this miracle that led directly to my apostasy.

Years later, I discovered that the miracle was not that one person's lunch was multiplied to feed more than 5,000. That didn't happen.

On that hillside, there was already enough to feed five thousand, the problem was that half had more than enough to eat, the other half had nothing to eat.

The miracle was the miracle of redistribution.

Today, one billion people went hungry. It's not that there isn't enough food to go around, there is enough food. The problem is that we need a miracle of redistribution.

Evergreen Cooperatives

The Evergreen Cooperatives of Cleveland, Ohio are pioneering innovative models of job creation, wealth building, and sustainability. Evergreen’s employee-owned, for-profit companies are based locally and hire locally. We create meaningful green jobs and keep precious financial resources within our community. Our workers earn a living wage and build equity in their firms as owners of the business.

The first Evergreen Cooperative businesses – Evergreen Cooperative Laundry, Ohio Cooperative Solar, and Green City Growers Cooperative – are launching in 2009–2010. Watch the video.

Evergreen is a partnership between the residents of six of our city’s neighborhoods and some of Cleveland’s most important “anchor institutions” – the Cleveland Foundation, the City of Cleveland, Case Western Reserve University, the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, and many others. Help us build community wealth to transform Cleveland and change lives.

Support the growing network of Evergreen Cooperatives. Together, we can transform our community.

THE MONDRAGON COMPANY

The MONDRAGON Corporation is a federation of worker cooperatives based in the Basque region of Spain.
Currently it is the seventh largest Spanish company in terms of turnover and the leading business group in the Basque Country. At the end of 2008 it was providing employment for 92,773 people working in 256 companies in four areas of activity

The MONDRAGON Co-operatives operate in accordance with a business model based on People and the Sovereignty of Labour, which has made it possible to develop highly participative companies rooted in solidarity, with a strong social dimension but without neglecting business excellence. The Co-operatives are owned by their worker-members and power is based on the principle of one person one vote [1]

The determining factor in the creation of the Co-operatives

1941 of a young priest José Mª Arizmendiarrieta

suffering the painful consequences of the aftermath of the Spanish Civil War:

create employment based on solidarity

Before setting up the first co-operative, Arizmendiarrieta spent a number of years educating young people about a form of humanism based on solidarity and participation, with Christian roots, and the importance of acquiring the necessary technical knowledge.

In October 2009, the United Steelworkers announced an agreement with Mondragon to create worker cooperatives in the United States.[4]

Bendable Business

Cooperatives less likely to break in economic crises

On October 27, 2009 the United Steelworkers announced a framework agreement with Mondragon to develop unionized worker cooperatives in the manufacturing sector in the US. Under the agreement, both parties have pledged to develop a model that combines the collective bargaining system with the “one worker, one vote” hallmark of cooperatives. While it will not be the first time worker cooperatives have looked to unionization, the scale and formal partnership of the Mondragon-Steelworkers proposal is without precedent and could signal a way for cooperatives and unions to work collaboratively in weathering economic storms.

THE CLEVELAND MODEL

The Cleveland Model

a new model of large-scale worker- and community-benefiting enterprises is beginning to build serious momentum. The Evergreen Cooperative Laundry (ECL)--a worker-owned, industrial-size, thoroughly "green" operation. There are ten major enterprises in the works in Cleveland. this is an employee-owned business. The Evergreen model draws heavily on the experience of the Mondragon Cooperative Corporation in the Basque Country of Spain, the world's most successful large-scale cooperative effort (now employing 100,000 workers in an integrated network of more than 120 high-tech, industrial, service, construction, financial and other largely cooperatively owned businesses).

The Evergreen Cooperative Laundry, the flagship works off the demand from the healthcare industry, which is 16 percent of GDP and growing. employees begin to buy into by payroll deductions of 50 cents an hour. ECL has the smallest carbon footprint of any. most use three gallons, ECL use just eight-tenths
gallon.

A second, part of the Evergreen effort. Ohio Cooperative Solar. large-scale installations of solar panels on the roofs of the city's largest nonprofit health, education and municipal buildings. 100 employee-owners weatherization program.

Another, $10 million in federal loans and grants already in hand) is Green City Growers, hydroponic food, 230,000-square-foot greenhouse--larger than the average Wal-Mart superstore.

A fourth co-op, Neighborhood Voice, 500 jobs over the next five years, focusing on the local market and anchor institutions.

Evergreen Business Services, to support. back-office services, etc.

resources, Cleveland Foundation, local foundations, banks and the municipal government. Evergreen Cooperative Development Fund, capitalized by $5 million in grant, leverage up $40 million.

go green, worker-owned co-ops, national buzz, models are being considered in Atlanta, Baltimore, Pittsburgh, Detroit.

Cleveland model could be applied in hard-hit industries and working-class communities around the nation. It takes us beyond both traditional capitalism and traditional socialism. The key link between national sectors of expanding public activity and procurement, on the one hand, and a new local economic entity, on the other, that "democratizes" ownership and is deeply anchored in the community.

In healthcare the link is to a sector in which some implicit or explicit form of "national planning", the movement toward universal healthcare will all but certainly increase public influence and concern with how funds are used.

Cleveland effort is targeted at very low-income, largely minority communities, the same principles could easily be applied in cities like Detroit and aimed at black and white workers displaced by the economic crisis.

massive planning failures of the nation's main auto companies. in October
the Mondragon Corporation and the million-plus-member United Steelworker union announced an alliance to develop

an alliance to develop Mondragon-type manufacturing cooperatives in the United States and Canada. Says USW's Rob Witherell: "We are seeking the right opportunities to make it work, probably in manufacturing markets that we both understand." what might happen if the government and the UAW used the stock they own in General Motors because of the bailout to reorganize the company along full or joint worker-ownership lines--and if the new General Motors product line were linked to a plan to develop the nation's mass transit and rail system. Since mass transit is a sector that is certain to expand, there is every reason to plan its taxpayer-financed growth and integrate it with new community-stabilizing ownership strategies. The same is true of high-speed rail. Moreover, there are currently no US-owned companies producing subway cars. Nor do any American-owned companies build the kind of equipment needed for high-speed rail.

2007 public authorities nationwide bought 600 new rail and subway cars, roughly 15,000 buses and smaller "paratransit" vehicles. current capital outlays on vehicles alone amount to $3.8 billion, total annual investment outlays (vehicles plus
infrastructure) are $14.5 billion.

Depart of Trans estimate $48 billion investment in transit capital projects could generate 1.3 million new green jobs in the next two years alone. It makes sense to expedite the retirement of aging buses and replace them with more efficient energy-saving vehicles. create more jobs

Obama has endorsed high-speed rail a priority. he announced support for rail expansion in thirteen corridors. based on an $8 billion "down payment"
November 2008 voters in California approved a $10 billion bond to build high-speed rail.

Providing infrastructure will generate a long list of required equipment. a restructured group of vehicle production companies could help produce, help create new forms of ownership that anchor the economies of the local communities involved.

the threshold of developing national policy approach for transportation
It is not too early to get serious about the Clevelands, moving an economically decaying nation toward a new economic vision.

ENRON INDIA DABHOL

The Dabhol power project, located on the Maharashtra coast approximately 180 kilometers south of Mumbai, is Enron's flagship project in India. Dabhol Phase I, generating 740 MW of power, began operating in May 1999. When Phase II is completed at the end of 2001, Dabhol will generate 2,450 MW of power to become the world's largest independent natural gas-fired power plant.

The Dabhol Power Corporation (DPC). The DPC started as a 100 percent foreign-owned private limited liability company incorporated in India by Enron, Bechtel Enterprises Holdings and General Electric Capital Structured Finance Group. The three partners controlled DPC through a chain of companies based in Mauritius, a tax haven. Enron held 80 percent of the shares of DPC, while Bechtel and GE each hold 10 percent.

Palestine: Israeli Love Song

neverbeforecampaign April 04, 2010When the Israeli regime feels that it has to create a ministry for propaganda, you know that they are worried. This concern is shared by dedicated Zionists and other misled people all over the world. Their concern is simple: the world is begginning to realize that the Israeli regime and its policies are nothing better than any other, past or present, discriminatory/apartheid regime.

No amount of spinning tactics or communications strategies will reverse this long overdue awakening. Yet, the Zionists and their regime persist. Over the past few years we have seen initiative after initiative, document after document, and campaign after campaign, to revert to the old pereceptions that the Israeli regime represents the values of freedom, liberty and equality. This regimes latest move, an initiative to turn every citizen into a PR ambassador highlights the desperation of its spin masters and PR firms.

Along these lines, many documents have been compiled to guide anyone willing to defend the Israeli regime and its policies. Most striking, and what we have been seeing for years by Israeli politicians and advocates, is the focus on the audacious claim that the Israeli regime, and its occupation army, actually cares about the Palestinian people.

It is the same old story for all oppressors eventually their image comes to fall, and soon afterwards, so do they.

FREEWORLD, UNITE YOUR STRUGGLES

Nation By Nation (8Apr10)

29Mar-8Apr10 -- There should be absolutely -- as per our calculations and events themselves -- no question whether the west cesspits are prolapsing... and terminally at that. So it's safe then to move on to the priceless pain, which now illuminates the west rigor mortis pangs. After all, even the grisly pack of west media whores has taken to covering the merriment of the west's growing agony. (Mouseover flags for info)

A F G H A N I S T A N Afghanistan - Karzai seems to be turning on his masters with threats of joining Talib. Watch for a new hasty "election", a code in west for imperator enthroning.
- In yet another case of west cowardice, Germs, after being ambushed and losing 3 child-murdering troops, opened fire on anything and everything managing to kill 5 of their allies.
- 29Mar-4Apr, west loses some 56 plus the customary 3-4X injury rate, 4 hmvs, 2 tanks, chopper, 8 tanks, and suffers 2 base shelling.

A U S T R A L I A Australia - Like baboons and EUnuchs, ratchets up looting by "privitasation" or public assets under the pretext of shaving cost. Port of Brisbane, forestry plantations, and freight and coal rail business go on garage sale. Note how the clever blokes kept the maintenance of railways a public wallet matter.

B O L I V I A Bolivia - Gets a 100M USD loan from Russia and begins coop on energy, military, the usuals.

B R A Z I L Brazil - Building a fleet of space rockets slated to orbit in 2014. Too bad the NASA "moon" baboons can't read otherwise they may enjoy this one.

C A N A D A Canada - Ontario, too, ushers in the beautiful word "austerity" with years of public programme cuts; wage freezes on 1M public jobs; wage freezes on 350K private jobs; and dumping the lofty Toronto beautification projects.
- Has had enough of Afghanistan heroin protecting and wants out. Fights among the drug mafias?

C H I N A China - Loads up on Russian S300's. Oddly, west didn't spew the usual venom and threats of bombing China or Russia.
- Following threatening all sorts of retributions, comrade Obama is singing tweely again to Beijing. Why? China responded to the comrade's threats of sanctions with the mention of trade war. EUnuchs have made it clear to USA they want no part of this war.
- Picks up Ford's Volvo for 1,8B USD on the west-wide garage sale.

SCREW ME? 'FRAID NOT, SCREW YOU!

from the "SCREW ME? 'FRAID NOT, SCREW YOU!" department...the debts owe to Goldman Sachs are illegitimate since they were criminal deals. Greece should simply stiff Goldman, nationalize its banking system and establishes its independence from the financial services industry. There is no need to enslave yourselves to pay illegal debts to criminal banksters

Matt Taibbi presents the No-Pay Movement as some crazy idea for Greece that just might work, but it seems that it is the only solution that will prevent the banksters from illegally enriching themselves on the backs and out of the skins of the people of Greece (Argentina did almost the same thing a few years ago, with massive success, gaining time and giving the various debt holders a big haircut, but we're supposed to forget about that!). Just tell Goldman Sachs, the other foreign banksters, and especially the IMF - Argentina was further along the road to servitude and eventually paid off all the IMF loans, although many thought that the IMF payment was wasted capital that should have been kept in the country - to go fuck themselves (and tell that Stasi agent who runs Germany to go fuck herself too). There will be hard times, but not nearly as hard than if you follow the 'responsible' path of paying off the lying and stealing banksters (once they see the lay of the land they will be happy to take something rather than nothing), and at the end of the day you are much, much better off if you haven't given up sovereignty to the gang of criminals who call themselves the IMF (the IMF uses the debt as a weapon to squeeze everybody dry for the rest of time, enforcing extreme right-wing policies on the poor and middle classes). As long as you have a real functioning economy - as Greece does - and have proper tax collection procedures - which Greece needs to work on - and block big outflows of capital - the root of the problem in Argentina, facilitated by some as yet uninvestigated criminal enterprises involving Citibank and others - there is absolutely no need to permanently enslave yourselves to pay illegal debts to criminal banksters. The only reason this financial blackmail is ever paid has nothing whatsoever to so with economics, and everything to do with bribes paid by banksters to politicians.

GLACIER? NATIONAL PARK RENAMED TO GLOBAL WARMING IS A MYTH NATIONAL PARK

BILLINGS, Montana — Glacier National Park has lost two more of its glaciers to climate change and many of the rest may be gone by the end of the decade, a government researcher said Wednesday.

Warmer temperatures have reduced the number of named glaciers in the northwestern Montana park to 25, said Dan Fagre said, an ecologist with the U.S. Geological Survey.

Here is an interesting article about Glacier National Park. It is interesting because the glaciers have melted. A fact, which is also an embarrassment on a couple of levels. A young student today, a product of an educational system that excludes critical thinking or a historical perspective, might well ask his parents, "Why did they name this place Glacier National Park?" It is more likely that he might ask, "What is a Glacier?"

As a tribute to Exxon Mobil and Koch Industries, corporations that yearly spend millions of dollars producing the "junk science" regarding global warming that is regularly and routinely trumpeted on the "junk media" FOX news, I suggest the following proposition.

As a tribute to this monumental collaborative effort this park should be renamed from Glacier National Park to Global Warming is a Myth National Park.

some figures offered in a Washington Post piece by Lieutenant General James H. Pillsbury, deputy commanding general of the U.S. Army Materiel Command, who is deeply involved in the "drawdown of the logistics operation in Iraq": "There are... more than 341 facilities; 263,000 soldiers, Defense Department civilians and contractor employees; 83,000 containers; 42,000 vehicles; 3 million equipment items; and roughly $54 billion in assets that will ultimately be removed from Iraq."
U.S. taxpayer dollars floated in boatloads of foreign sand from the United Arab Emirates and Qatar to create those 15-ton blast walls at $3,500 a pop. U.S. planners are now evidently wondering whether to ship some of the leftover walls thousands of miles by staggeringly roundabout routes to Afghanistan at a transportation cost of $15,000 each.

WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad -- including two Reuters news staff.

Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-site, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers. Two young children involved in the rescue were also seriously wounded.

The military did not reveal how the Reuters staff were killed, and stated that they did not know how the children were injured.

After demands by Reuters, the incident was investigated and the U.S. military concluded that the actions of the soldiers were in accordance with the law of armed conflict and its own "Rules of Engagement".

Consequently, WikiLeaks has released the classified Rules of Engagement for 2006, 2007 and 2008, revealing these rules before, during, and after the killings.

WikiLeaks has released both the original 38 minutes video and a shorter version with an initial analysis. Subtitles have been added to both versions from the radio transmissions.

WikiLeaks obtained this video as well as supporting documents from a number of military whistleblowers. WikiLeaks goes to great lengths to verify the authenticity of the information it receives. We have analyzed the information about this incident from a variety of source material. We have spoken to witnesses and journalists directly involved in the incident.

WikiLeaks wants to ensure that all the leaked information it receives gets the attention it deserves. In this particular case, some of the people killed were journalists that were simply doing their jobs: putting their lives at risk in order to report on war. Iraq is a very dangerous place for journalists: from 2003- 2009, 139 journalists were killed while doing their work."

MAX BLUMENTHAL REPORTS ON THE THIRD TEMPLE

For the past three days the Israeli Army has sealed off parts of the Old City to prevent radical Jewish settlers from breaking into the Al-Aqsa Mosque to act out their messianic fantasies. The settlers intend to “redeem” the Temple Mount and construct the Third Temple, inciting a religious war in the process.

Incidentally, spent an hour tonight watching Talkline with Zev Brenner on Jewish Life TV, or JLTV. It is channel 120 on New York City’s Time Warner. This show is created by fanatical settlers for the national religious camp’s supporters in the US. It features a guest roster of far-right figures, including a few I’ve seen around Jerusalem and the West Bank. The show is devoted to promoting a Jewish takeover of Al-Aqsa to bring about the “Third Temple”

“We need to invest all of our efforts into the Temple Mount and rebuilding the Third Temple,” Zev Brenner proclaims during his show.

Another speaker appears beside Brenner and declares, “Israel is divided into two camps: the whiners and the heroes.” The heroes, he explains, are the people “who lace up their boots, put on their uniforms, and go out and fight for the Israeli Army…They don’t whine about the politicians, they go out and do what’s asked of them.”
The program goes straight into footage of the IDF tanks going into Gaza during the early 2009 assault.
Shimon Peres enters the prayer tent to pump up the soldiers and prays with them. The footage highlights the role religious fervor played in elevating the soldiers’ morale as they prepared to attack Gaza.

“The leader of Iran says he has two sons: Hezbollah and Hamas,” Peres declares. “Now he will have two crippled sons!” The soldiers break into song: “Am Yisrael Chai! Am Yisrael Chai!”

Arundhati Roy on the Palestinian / Israeli Conflict

Arundhati Roy, has offered her services to act as a representative on behalf of the Maoist resistance group fighting Indian Armed Forces and Security Services
She is not in the good book of both Pro-Israel and Hindutva groups because she has compared Indian occupation of Muslim majority Kashmir with the Jewish illegal occupation of Palestine

Arundhati Roy’s offer, while well-comed by the Maoist leadership – has irked Hindutva establishment.

They mirror the incredible mental descent and cultural depravity of a post-Bollywood, web-savvy class, cut off from historical precedent, unaware of India’s socio-economic past, unaware of rational, sensible discourse and debate, ignorant about India’s own philosophical traditions, let alone world history– about colonization and the genocide against aboriginal people.

It is time for all the alternative left and democratic opposition to come together on a common platform oppose this horrendous Green Hunt before full scale massacres start happening.

Dimitri Khalezov, The Third Truth

Dimitri Khalezov is a confidante of Viktor But the so-called Merchant of Death as well as a researcher on 9/11. He has promulgated the theory that a team of foreign agents, some of whom were seen celebrating immediately after the collapse of the towers, were responsible for the terrorism event.

[edit] Main Theory on 9/11

Khalezov's main theory in relation to 9/11, which he describes by using the portmanteau word "911thology", is that preset nuclear charges under the Twin Towers of the World Trade Center were triggered on 9/11, causing their collapse. He alleges that there is evidence of radioactive fallout damage at the time and amongst the survivors of 9/11 to this day.

He further alleges that a nuclear missile struck the Pentagon on 9/11, although it was deliberately set to not detonate on impact.

His theories have been widely criticised, sometimes with straw man arguments but more often on basic logical grounds, relating to the availability of the technology he alleges is involved, the opportunity for a foreign power to trigger the devices, and the availability of the nuclear missile in relation to his Pentagon hypothesis.

His theory is now the subject of a book and pamphlet, as well as a documentary film to be released in the latter part of 2009.

Khalezov's unique version of nuclear demolition in relation to 9/11 is perhaps the most controversial of the seriously held 9/11 conspiracy theories due in part to his refusal to provide complete evidence for his theory freely.

The Third Truth, by Dimitri Khalezov Author’s Introduction.
The Third Truth, by Dimitri Khalezov
Author’s Introduction.

This book is definitely not a pleasant surprise for some of the world politicians and leaders because the truth described in it has happened and it threatens the world peace. Even if some people do not want to be responsible for their own actions the world should know who is playing these political games without boundaries.

Someone might think at first that this book is just one more conspiracy theory. Unfortunately, it is NOT a conspiracy theory. This book is an explanation of what really happened on 9/11. This is a testimony of a person who, firstly, was an appropriate specialist in related fields, and, secondly, who was personally involved with the events. That’s it. See the difference between a testimony of an eyewitness (who is also an expert in the same time) and some guessing of a lay “theorist” who neither saw, nor knew anything at all? That is the very difference between a testimony and a “conspiracy theory”.

This book not only claims something, it proves everything. Its proof is not based on logic alone. This proof also includes names, photographs, photocopies of documents, statements of well-known officials, and all necessary references – including criminal cases numbers –where every claim of the author can be easily verified. However, if anyone is interested in more proofs and details – there is my contact information at the end of the book. All honest investigators and sincere researchers are welcome to contact me.

WHO KNEW?...GO FIGURE

The NYT continues to surprise. It might be that this kind of analysis appears because it is a discussion of Russia and not the US. Or maybe in the US, one has to speak between the lines and this was merely smuggled into the NYT. At any rate, this is a rare analysis to be found in the NYT. It doesn't, as they say, fit the the dominant narrative.

ALMOST every month for the past two years, Chechen suicide bombers have struck. But do we really understand what drives young women and men to strap explosives. The three of us, in our work for the Chicago Project on Security and Terrorism, have analyzed every Chechen suicide attack

few of the suicide bombers profess religious motives. Something is driving,it is hardly global jihad.

As we have discovered in our research on Lebanon, the West Bank, Iraq, Afghanistan, Sri Lanka and elsewhere, suicide terrorist campaigns are almost always a last resort against foreign military occupation

“black widows” — women who have lost a husband, child or close relative to the “occupation” and killed themselves on missions to even the score

“They do not accept being humiliated and living under occupation.”

“The Russians think the war is distant,” he said. “Blood will not only spill in our towns and villages but also it will spill in their towns

“This is the land of our brothers and it is our sacred duty to liberate these lands.

What explains the three-year pause in suicide bombing?
  • Russians pursued a robust hearts-and-minds program
  • killed significantly fewer civilians.
  • Amnesty was granted to insurgents

Russians then over-reached
  • stamp out the remaining militants
  • ambitious counterterrorism
  • rebels were abducted and imprisoned
  • forced confessions and coerced testimony
  • claims of extensive torture and executions
  • [Russia]suppress knowledge of its policies through official lies, obstruction and witness intimidation.”

Chechen suicide terrorism is strongly motivated by both direct military occupation by Russia and by indirect military occupation by pro-Russia Chechen

any realistic solution
  • must improve the legitimacy of Chechnya’s core social institutions
  • free and fair elections
  • adopting internationally accepted standards of humane conduct
  • equally distributing the region’s oil revenues

No political solution would resolve every issue. But quelling the rebellion with diplomacy...is in its security interests

as Chechens feel themselves under occupation, the cycle of violence will continue

On the way home this day, I rode for a while behind this bumper sticker: Si quieres la paz, lucha por la justicia

DOLLAR SHORT AND A DAY LATE

by: Jill Richardson

Thu Mar 25, 2010 at 05:00:00 AM PDT

Bill Clinton realized a decade or so too late that he messed up by prioritizing Arkansas rice farmers over Haitians. In a stunning and wonderful apology, Clinton said:
It may have been good for some of my farmers in Arkansas, but it has not worked. It was a mistake... I had to live everyday with the consequences of the loss of capacity to produce a rice crop in Haiti to feed those people because of what I did; nobody else.

Wow. Just so you can connect all of the dots here, recall that Clinton is from Arkansas and Arkansas is the top rice producing state in the U.S. During his time in office, Clinton imposed neoliberal economic reforms on Haiti, flooding their markets with cheap U.S. rice. This put Haitian farmers out of business, sending many of them to Port-au-Prince. In a stroke of irony, many out of work farmers were starving... not because there was no food but because they could not afford it. I'll be honest that I'm thrilled Clinton's now come face to face with Haiti's crushing poverty in a big way, because he seems to truly understand what he did as President and why it was not good. Let's hope he also understands that this is not a phenomenon limited to Haiti:

"A combination of food aid, but also cheap imports have ... resulted in a lack of investment in Haitian farming, and that has to be reversed," U.N. humanitarian chief John Holmes told The Associated Press. "That's a global phenomenon, but Haiti's a prime example. I think this is where we should start."

So now that Clinton gets it, let's hope he shares his newfound wisdom with his wife... and her boss. The bipartisan Clinton-Bush team is now promising that the U.S. will help create Haitian jobs. I sincerely hope that their plan is not to increase imports of Haitian goods to the U.S. so that they can create more jobs in sweatshops, but I fear that might be the case.

FOX NEWS JOKES ABOUT KILLING OBAMA

LET'S HEAR FROM A SOCIALIST

"This is not a healthcare reform bill," says Socialist Party USA co-chair Billy Wharton, "It is instead a corporate restructuring of the American healthcare system designed to enhance the profits of private health insurance companies disguised with the language of reform"

As the Socialists note:

The bill passed by the House (March 21) would mandate all Americans to purchase health insurance coverage or face a fine. It would also create health insurance exchanges, an idea crafted by the right-wing Heritage Foundation, where people would purchase insurance from private companies. Those not eligible for Medicaid but who still could not afford to purchase insurance would receive public funds from the federal government to purchase bare bones coverage insurance plans from private insurers.

(Socialists) opposes this restructuring on the grounds that the mandates allow private insurers to use the coercive power of the state to enhance their private profits. Insurance credits will serve as a public subsidy to private companies. It is yet another case of public money that could be used for necessary social programs being funneled towards companies that engage in practices that are abusive and detrimental to the overall society.

Wharton argues, "public funds would be better spent in creating a national single-payer system.

Wharton wrote in his recent Washington Post piece -- titled "Obama's No Socialist. I Should Know" -- "The funny thing is, of course, that socialists know that Barack Obama is not one of us. Not only is he not a socialist, he may in fact not even be a liberal. Socialists understand him more as a hedge-fund Democrat -- one of a generation of neo-liberal politicians firmly committed to free-market policies."

ROBERT SCHEER

This guy, Robert Scheer used to work at this place. He was fired after running his column for more than 12 years and working as a reporter for the paper 17 years, the Los Angeles Times ended a nearly thirty year relationship with Scheer for writing this column, among other related items. He currently runs this website. The corporate elites and their media are rapidly loosing control of the dominant story. Every computer is a printing press. Information is rapidly being decentralized.

SARAH PALIN AND NATHAN BEDFORD FORREST

FORREST, WALLACE AND PALIN

Sarah Palin as Nathan Bedford Forrest. This is an Jayne Lyn Stahl piece is an interesting article

This article matches up with one of my pet theories of history which goes like this:

People wonder why Robert E Lee basically countered the command of his own government and signed the peace treaty with Grant when the south could have gone underground and fought and won a guerrilla insurrection.

The fact is this is exactly what the South did. There is a quote I have failed to bookmark where Lee was asked to lead this insurrection and he declined, informing them that he wasn't the man for the job and he recommended they ask Nathan Bedford Forrest

The Ku Klux Klan was that insurrection and they succeeded in running the "north" out and took back their government. This scarcely known document is a major document in US history and is known as the Compromise of 1877. Some of how this came to be is here, here and here. It is the real peace treaty between the South and the North.

There was a racist component of the KKK and especially the 20Th Century KKK. but while the racism was there, it wasn't the main story.

The South shall Rise again, and again, and again, and again until the secession is recognized and codified.

Being the grandson of Joseph Eugene Bee Stonewall Jackson Robert E Lee Roberts, I can tell you for sure, these Southerners will never forget. The oil has done been pumped out of Texas, hell, give it to em and let em fight the Mexicans for it. This time they'll lose for sure, and won't that be funny.

HUBRIS AND PRIDE, WELLPOINT AND FOX NEWS

The inauthentic man faces a difficult balancing act, for he is not only avoiding the truth, he has forgotten where he put the truth...that is the kind of self-delusion that creates missteps and a hubris that often leads to downfall.

"Pride goes before a fall" -- hubris. It is also referred to as "pride that blinds", as it causes someone accused of hubris to act in foolish ways that belie common sense. Hubris indicates a loss of touch with reality and overestimating one's own competence or capabilities, especially for people in positions of power.

And really, this applies not just to WellPoint, as FoxNews easily points out in the video, but to FoxNews, itself

WAKHAN

This narrow strip of land once formed the buffer zone between the British & Russian Empires and was of immense strategic importance during the 19th century Great Game.

The corridor was a political creation of the Great Game. The Anglo-Russian Boundary Commission of 1895-1896 demarcated the land as a buffer between British India and the Russian Central Asia. Once part of the Silk Road, the Wakhan Corridor has been closed to border traffic for almost 100 years due to political reasons.
